A&A Family Farms Ltd., situated in Elora, ON N0B 1S0, is currently looking for applications for the role of Foreman/woman, poultry farm workers who are self-motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal skills. The selected candidate must start work promptly. The available positions are for a Term, a contract, or a full-time job. The candidate must be available to work during the morning, day, evening, and weekend, as well as on an on-call basis and overtime.

Job Description

  • The candidate must follow sustainable soy farming practices such as crop rotation, reduced-till or no-till, water and nutrient management, precision farming technology, and cover crops.
  • The candidate must monitor animal health.
  • The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting.
  • The candidate must ensure compliance with farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
  • The candidate must maintain work records and logs.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 3 to 4 people.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

On site

  • The candidate must complete work at the physical location, with no option to work remotely.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include chicken farming, corn farming, other grain farming, wheat farming, and poultry/egg production.
  • The candidate must work in a dusty environment.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.

  • The candidate must have experience operating a tractor and a forklift.

  • The candidate must specialize in the area of agricultural crop service and poultry.
